Remove “Just Another WordPress Site” from Your Website

How do I remove the “Just Another WordPress Site”  message from my website?

WordPress displays a short message after the title of your website by default. Depending on the WordPress version what you have installed, this message might be “Just another WordPress site,” “Just another WordPress blog” or  “Just another WordPress weblog.” This message is called the WordPress slogan or WordPress tagline, and you will find it both in the title bar at the top of the Web browser when viewing your website, and on search engine result pages. Nothing screams “amateur” quite like a “Just another WordPress site” message at the top of a browser window, and you should remove or change it as soon as possible after installing WordPress. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to the WP-Admin page for your website (usually mywebsite.com/wp-admin).
  2. Click the “Settings” link in the bottom-left corner of the page. You should now be looking at the “General Settings” menu for your WordPress website.
  3. Erase the contents of the “Tagline” box and add your own message. Remember to keep it short and explain in just a few words what your website is about.
  4. Click the blue “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the window.
